Tim Swanston is a reporter, video journalist and photographer, based in London.
For eight years, Tim worked for Australia’s public broadcaster, ABC News, working as a foreign correspondent in Papua New Guinea and as a reporter and video journalist in Australia. He has extensive experience in broadcast television, digital video, podcasting, social media and digital storytelling. In Papua New Guinea, Tim reported extensively on development, geo-politics, defence, tribal conflict, corruption, resources and land disputes.
Tim is an experienced field reporter and videographer, with the ability to be deployed independently into challenging and complex environments. He excels at establishing networks, gathering content and filing for traditional and emerging platforms. He has covered some of the largest news events in Australia in the last few years, including the pandemic, the Black Summer bushfires and the northern New South Wales floods.
